Community
Support and Involvement
Volunteerism
Mark Walther (the founder of TBayIT) has volunteered
for many organizations including the Thunder Bay Regional Arts Council,
the
local
211 initiative,
the Young
Entrepreneurs of Thunder Bay, Community Information and Referral Centre,
and other local and provincial organizations.
Web Site Initiatives
TBayIT has created Thunder
Bay Internet City to help drive traffic to local websites and has created TBayLife.com to
showcase some of our beautiful natural scenery in Northwestern Ontario. We have also supported many non-profit initiatives to strengthen our community and increase awareness online.
Leadership
In June 2006 Mark
Walther graduated from the Leadership
Thunder Bay course. The group project that was taken on was a promotional package for Camp Firefly (Diabetes Health Thunder Bay). Part of this project included the design of a logo and an informative and attractive website (www.campfirefly.ca).
Mark Walther has joined the Leadership Thunder Bay Alumni and and sits on the Communications Sub-Committee to help promote and market Leadership Thunder Bay to new members, community organizations and potential sponsors.
Community Support
We also are members of many non-profit organizations in Thunder
Bay including the Lakehead Social Planning Council and William W. Creighton
Youth Services.
We regularly volunteer for events including the Volunteer Thunder Bay's
RBC Mayor's Walk, Christmas Fest for the LSPC, and various other special
events in our community.
We provide excellent rates across the board for all non-profit organizations
and have specific knowledge in helping the voluntary and public sectors
find the best solutions for their organization. We have even put together
a guide to help them harness technology affordably (click

History of Thunder Bay Information Technology Solutions
Thunder Bay Information Technology Solutions was
started in 2002 by Mark Walther a recent graduate from the Computer Science program
at Lakehead University. Mark's initial intentions was to create a
company that could provide a variety of Information Technology services
including (Web Design, Web Hosting, Software, On-Site/Home Computer
Services, and much more - basically anything that could generate
revenue). Over the last couple of years TBayIT has grown to specialize
in two areas: Web Design / Web Enabled Applications and On-Site Corporate

Since the inception of TBayIT, we have went from only a few clients
to hundreds. We have hired a crew of sub-contractors we regularly use
for larger projects and grown a large network of clients and partners in the
community - especially in the non-profit sector.
