Classic ASP to ASP.NET 2.0
TBayIT has started the process of converting our web applications to the new ASP.NET 2.0 environment. Here is an exerpt from the www.asp.net website: ASP.NET makes building real world Web applications dramatically easier. ASP.NET server controls enable an HTML-like style of declarative programming that lets you build great pages with far less code than with classic ASP or technologies like PHP or JSP. Best of all, ASP.NET pages work in all browsers – including Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Internet Explorer.
We started incorporating ASP.NET into our websites when the first version came out and completed a few sites solely done in .NET, but overall we didn't find it advantageous at that time. Now with the power of the second version the advantages of upgrading have never been clearer. Microsoft has also released Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition for free!
