Client:
William W. Creighton Youth Services
Problem:
Connect 8 facilities
and offices located throughout Thunder Bay and across Northwestern Ontario
into one secure network that allows access to critical
applications and sensitive documents.
Solution:
In early 2004 William W. Creighton
Youth Services was starting to find their network outdated and didn't
compare with the current and emerging technologies. They had very little
connectivity between their facilities.
and each facility was using a stand-alone copy of their key database
application. This system
was bulky, not very efficient and made routine maintenance difficult.
To solve this problem TBayIT installed two new servers, both running
Microsoft Windows 2003 Server and one to run Citrix Metaframe Server
XP. Key network components were also upgraded to increase speeds and
make for a better experience with each end-user. Now with the power and
reliability of Citrix and Microsoft Windows Server 2003, all of Creighton
Youth's facilities can now log in to the
main network, run the critical applications, and transfer files securely.
System Highlights:
Two Powerful
Servers running Windows Server 2003
Citrix MetaFrame
XP to distribute critical applications and files through a secure internet
connection
Automated Tape
Backup System
