November 15, 2006 - Where's Willy? The other day I bought some items at the local convenience store and was given change. What was interesting was that on one of the bills there was some writing and a web address. Not the typical moustache or beard drawn on our fore-fathers either - it was "Follow me - www.whereswilly.com". So of course, I typed in the address and ended up at this bill tracking site. I typed in the serial number of the bill and saw it's history as it travelled across Canada and wound up in Thunder Bay.
The site WheresWilly.com allows you to enter a serial number of a bill and track it as it falls into different pockets across Canada. You can register new bills and start your own tracking on them. The system even integrates the Google Map API to visually display the travels of your bills. Some people have way to much time on their hands! :-)
