July 21, 2006 - Shaw Xtreme-I Broadband Coming Soon
Broadband is about to get a little faster in Thunder Bay. Shaw Xtreme-I which has been available out west in Winnipeg, Calgary and other cities will now be available in Thunder Bay for those who require a little more speed than want traditional broadband provides. The speed improvement will mean 9 Mbps downloads (compared to 7 Mbps currently) and twice the upload speed (1 Mbps compared to 0.5 Mbps currently). This will be a great improvement for those who enjoy large downloads, gaming and companies that run web servers, VPNs, deployed applications on their broadband connection. Shaw reps have said that this service will be available to their staff for testing this month and to the rest of us later this summer or early fall.
