December 5, 2005 - Internet Explorer vs. Mozilla Firefox
 | If you haven't heard of Mozilla Firefox, it's about time you do. Mozilla Firefox is a web browser that offers the same functionality (if not more) as Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Mozilla Firefox is open source, follows open standards, is completely free and immune to almost all spyware. With the newest release 1.5 and with more people switching to Firefox everyday, they are a real threat to Microsoft's browser monopoly. |
You might ask, why isn't Mozilla the most popular browser then? Well, it's next to impossible to compete with Microsoft when they integrate their browser directly into the Windows operating system. Have you ever tried to uninstall Internet Explorer from your computer - not an easy task to accomplish by any means. Nevertheless, Firefox is catching up, with over 100 million downloads they aren't a come and go operation, they are here to stay.
